 Eagles are fascinating birds that have many amazing features and abilities. Here are some interesting facts about eagles that you may not know:

•         Eagles have very sharp eyesight that allows them to see up to eight times better than humans. They can spot a rabbit from 3.2 kilometers away.

•         Eagles have a powerful grip that is up to 10 times stronger than humans. They can lift prey that weighs up to 5 pounds with their talons.

•         Eagles build their nests on high cliffs or trees, away from predators and near food sources. Some nests can be very large and heavy, such as the bald eagle’s nest, which measures 13 feet deep, and 8.2 feet wide, and weighs 1.1 tonnes.

•         Eagles are symbols of freedom, peace, and divine power in many cultures and religions. The bald eagle is the national emblem of the United States, and the Philippine eagle is the national bird of the Philippines.

•         Eagles are not actually bald. The word “bald” comes from the Old English word “balde”, which means “white-headed”. The bald eagle has white feathers on its head, neck, and tail.
